Silicone washer Caps (WC's) are ideal for masking studs or bolts and a circular area around them, typically for grounding purposes. Alternatively, try using them as a plug - the area around a hole can then be masked by the flange - for instance, where a washer or grounding wire might need to be. They have also been used successfully as an insulation for wire harnesses (by cutting off the tip).
The silicone material from which they are made is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 600°F / 315°C. These reusable caps also have great heat resistance.
